Serralves Foundation

Serralves Foundation

Oporto, in my opinion, is probably one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal. There are lots of interesting things that you can do and discover just only by walking.

The last time we went, we decided that it was the time to finally discover Serralves Foundation, I don't know why we did it on the third time we went.

Serralves foundation is a cultural institution whose mission is to promote contemporary art and its associated disciplines. At the foundation you can find the Museum of Contemporary Art, lush gardens, Serralves Villa, the Casa do Cinema and an auditorium.

Although the museum has quite interesting artists, what impressed us the most were all the gardens and of course Serralves house that was designed by the architect José Marques da Silva. It is an important extension of the Museum of Contemporary Art and also you can find some temporary exhibitions.

When I first saw Serralves Villa, I thought I was in a Wes Anderson movie. The art Deco style and the pink tones left me without words, you just have to look to all the pictures we took.
