Plitvice

Almost a year ago, we had the chance to go to Croatia and appart from discovering Dubrovnik and many other amazing places, we went to Plitvice lakes national park, one of the oldest and largest parks in Croatia.
We arrived there very early in the morning, 30 minutes before they opened and still a lot of people was there waiting, in that moment we even were more excited to see the park.
The park is known for its lakes arranged in cascades. Sixteen lakes can be seen from the surface and you can feel that you are truly embrace by nature.
We wore very comfortable shoes as what we expected was to walk almost all the day and it was like this. You can choose between different routes, the one we made was the C one, and it took us about 5 hours and it even included some boats and train rides.
Make sure that you have with yourself an umbrella or at least a rain coat. I read somewhere that it rains 60% of the time in Plitvice, which is what allows for the scenery, so don't let a poor forecast dissuade you from going if it's your only opportunity!
